Band Membership Rules (Bylaws)
ARTICLE III. Membership
3.1 Qualifications for Members. Upon
payment of dues, the following persons may become members of the Oregon
Alumni Band (OAB):
- Any former member of a University
of Oregon Athletic Band participating for a minimum of one season.
- Any former member of an
athletic band at a recognized college or university participating
for a minimum of one season with signed sponsorship by a current
OAB member qualifying under section (a) above.
- Former University of Oregon
School of Music student enrolled during a period in which an
officially recognized Athletic Band did not exist.
- Current and former faculty
and staff of the University of Oregon School of Music.
3.2 Non-Discrimination.
Members and the Board of Directors of OAB shall be accepted and
chosen without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national
origin,
ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, physical challenges, etc.
3.3 Dues. The Board
shall establish a schedule of membership dues, rules concerning the
manner and payment of dues, and rules concerning the termination of
membership for failure to pay membership dues.
3.4 Transfer of
Membership. No membership shall be transferable or assignable.
3.5 Honorary Membership.
The OAB Board of Directors may grant honorary lifetime membership
in the Association to individuals because of their outstanding contribution
to the University of Oregon Bands.
