Homecoming 2007

Registration Deadline

All OAB members who plan to attend Homecoming are encouraged to register to get on the gate list for game day, regardless of whether you need an instrument or not. If you need to borrow a percussion instrument or a sousaphone, you must register in advance to allow us to plan for this. The registration deadline for percussion or sousaphone loaners is Friday, October 5.

Parking

This year, we have free parking spots available behind the Armory on a first-come, first-serve basis (around 20 spots total). If you would like to park at the Armory, PLEASE carpool with a whole carload of your favorite band friends. If you cannot arrive early enough to get a spot, you still have several options: we suggest Alton Baker Park or along MLK/Centennial Loop and walking. The stadium charges $20 or more for parking. Or you can take the Centennial Blvd. LTD bus or carpool to save money.

Pre-Game Show

The 2007 pre-game show has not yet been determined, but details will be posted here when they become available.

Game Day Uniforms (Windbreakers)

The Oregon Marching Band is providing us with loaner windbreakers to wear at the game for a more uniform look in the band box. You will be provided with a windbreaker at check-in to wear over your other clothing, and you will need to return this windbreaker to the OAB at the end of the game. These jackets are not available for purchase, and it is very important that you return them to the Oregon Marching Band at the end of the day.

Loaner Instruments

The Oregon Alumni Band will be providing percussion instruments ONLY by request as noted on your Homecoming registration. (Loaner percussion instruments are subject to availability and must be requested by Friday, October 5.) If you need to borrow an instrument other than a percussion instrument, check with a friend, local high school or music store.

2007 OAB Director

This year's alumni band will again be directed by former drum major and GGB member Laura Arthur.

Eligibility

You must pay for 2007 dues in order to get into the Homecoming game. Your one annual fee of $35 gets you into both the Homecoming game and the Pape Jam.

To be eligible to join the Oregon Alumni Band, you must have played in a community college, college or university athletic band of some kind (ex: marching band, pep band, basketball band, etc.) In other words, your athletic band membership does not need to have been specifically with the University of Oregon in order to qualify. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I wanted to register but I forgot to do it in time. How do I know if there will be a gate pass available to me when I get to Eugene?

A: Please contact us at info@oregonalumniband.com if you have any concerns about gate pass availability. We do not anticipate problems getting everyone in, but we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the check-in process.

 

Q: Is Homecoming Free?

A: NO. Your membership registration must be current in order for you to get into Homecoming. Please check our Roster page to check your membership status. If your membership is expired, you will need to pay the $35 annual fee.

 

Q: If my membership fees are current, why should I pre-register?

A: We have been asked to get the most current game day roster possible to the Oregon Marching Band so that they can plan for our presence on game day. Also, pre-registration is required if you need to borrow a percussion or sousaphone instrument or if you need special transportation arrangements.

 

Q: What is the deadline for checking out a sousaphone or percussion instrument?

A: We ask that you notify us no later than Friday, October 5. Last-minute instrument loans will not be available on game day. Please note that we have a limited number of sousaphones available this year, so if you need a sousa you are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible.
