OREGON ALUMNI
BAND
12/18/2004 Meeting Minutes
Laura’s Tussle Pad
Present: Laura, Renee, Monica, Jeannette, Phil, Jeff, Lani, and OAB member
Von Kam.
Absent: No-one, though Jeannette had to leave midway, Phil was her proxy.
I. Old Business
A. Minutes Approval: minutes were approved via email awhile ago.
B. Financial Report: not available. Lani reports we have money and will
deposit any outstanding checks and do an end-of-year report in January
2005.
C. Homecoming Review & Ideas for 2005
Armory has been booked for OAB through 2008 (or until the tenants leave
the building). OMB is covering rental fee.
Due to some complaints of OAB spontaneous musical bursts of duck spirit
in the Pittman Room, we have been asked to please five an approximate
time we will perform there.
To encourage more participation, send out the “big mailing” in
August and a reminder postcard in mid-Sept to keep OAB fresh on people’s
minds.
Provide a full gate list two weeks prior to Homecoming to the OMB administrative
assistant.
Write a script about OAB for announcer during the game.
OMB director Todd Zimbelman is willing to provide either windbreakers,
hats, or T-shirts that complement the OMB’s uniforms.
We might march onto the field for HC ‘05!
There were no complaints about not having a full brunch prior to game.
D. Pape Jam Review
25 members signed up; only 11 showed up to play. The GGB and YGB were
there thank goodness to fill in the voids!
All four rooms were used in the Embassy Suites for our out-of-town members.
Before rehearsal begins, OAB and OBB, YGB, & GGB need an icebreaker
to remind us we’re all on the same team.
Meat pizzas: OAB needs to hire a security guard! OR, just order meat/combo
pizzas only!
II. New Business
A. OAB Board Elections
Jeff Swanson resigned his position as vice president, as well as from
the Board. He has now ascended to the status of “VP Emeritus”.
We thank him for his continuous determination and clear effort to make
OAB better. We’ll miss you, buddy!
Monica is stepping down as Secretary (served 4 years) but still plans
to be active on the board, just not in an Executive position.
Phil is stepping down as President (serving 5 years), but plans to stay
on Board.
Lani is staying on as Treasurer - thank you!
After much discussion, Lani moved to nominate Laura for President, Jeannette
for VP, and Renee for Secretary. Monica seconded, unanimously approved.
Girl Power!
B. New board member nominations:
It was moved by Renee and unanimously approved by all to welcome Corianne
Good and Robert Heinke as new OAB board members! Welcome and congratulations!
We look forward to your duck visions!
C. Winter postcard to go out mid-January: Send out HC and Jam wrap up
notes, announce new executive board and welcome new board members.
Meeting adjourned 6:30 pm.
