FDABA Minutes
September 6, 2003
At Phil’s cool spot in the Autzen Parking Lot

I. General Business

A. As fate would have it, Phil ran into Nita Nichols of the UO Trademark Division at the game while passing out "Support a Husky Free Northwest" bumper stickers. She said her division is still working on the FDABA issues.

a. Phil spoke to Todd about it since the last FDABA meeting, and Todd offered words of support.

b. Laura motioned that she dink around with the font - not UO's copyrighted one - for our new look, then e-mail board members several versions for us to vote on. Jeannette seconded, all approved.

B. The OMB BBQ has been moved to Sept 19 instead of the 26th. Jeff found a rental grill for $80! He's still looking for some help.

C. Big Green Benefit is still on for Sept 26. Time & place TBA, but most likely meeting mid-afternoon. Jeff offered to drive up and conduct! Sweet!

D. Phil to get Homecoming music to Monica within 3 weeks to scan and put on web for alumni to download and practice.

E. Phil requested a SATB version of the Oregon Pledge Song. Renee thought of Jeff Edom, as he could whip it out in lightning (angry buttercup) speed.

F. Affiliations: FDABA prefers to associate themselves with the Oregon Club (vs UOAA) for variety of reasons including freedom to use our own suppliers and vendors, increase our advertising methods and audience, and ability to branch out in other cities (Oregon Clubs have clubs in numerous cities). Jeff moved to pursue affiliation with the Oregon Club, Renee seconded, all approved. Phil has contacts at the Portland Oregon Club.

G. Jeff offered to conduct at the Pape Jam, too. Cool!

II. Homecoming

A. FDABA to pick up HC music the night before Homecoming.

B. Instrument rentals: Will be on a first come, first serve basis. It is up to the University what will be available for rent. This will be on the website. Meanwhile, Jeff will talk to Tim Vian at Thurston and Phil to Brent Capelutti to see if we can borrow sousaphones or other instruments unattainable at UO.

C. Post Game Awards: Jeff motioned to allocate $100 for trophies and other goofy items for the post game social award ceremony. Laura seconded, all approved.

D. Guest Conductor: Try Earle Ellis and/or Andy Nelson (Renee to do?)
